Typical Pest Bird Target Species
Bird Control Advisory Programs Focus On
Pest Birds That Commonly Plague Buildings & Structures
Pigeons, Columbidae
The majority of our work focuses on the elimination of problems associated with Pigeons. Though beloved by those who keep and care for them, the minor and significant infestation of these so-called “flying rats” leads to costly problems for a facility and should be expeditiously addressed. Pigeons reside on sheltered, recessed ledges such as those on historic buildings and under roadways and bridges in and around urban areas.
Gulls, Laridae
The largest of our targeted pest birds, Gulls size and behavior make the resulting problems even greater. Gulls continue to inhabit more inland roosts with their need for constant food sources during off season months for coastal and wetland areas. Projects include both façade and rooftop work on buildings designing effective deterrent systems for ledges and open areas against these territorial birds.
Sparrows, Passeridae
The smallest of our targeted pest birds, Sparrows find their way in to buildings and struggle to find their way out. Netting systems keep these pest birds out of spaces as small as ¾” to eliminate nesting and roosting on ceiling beams and rafters of hangars and indoor locations or in rooftop HVAC systems and decorative features on historic buildings.
Starlings, Sturnidae
A medium sized migratory bird which travels and roosts in large numbers. Though more commonly found in trees, when Starlings occupy your façade or facility the noise and mess can be trying.
